All 12 Fulfilling Lives partnerships have service users at the centre of their work. Involving, and in particular retaining, people with lived experience can be a challenge. The VOICES partnership based in Stoke on Trent have been successful in this regard and their experiences to date have generated lots of learning. In this case study we highlight some of the key ways VOICES and the Expert Citizens of Stoke feel meaningful beneficiary engagement can be achieved.

The aim is to provide practical ideas and advice based on the experience of VOICES. It covers recruiting, training, supporting and retaining people with lived experience of multiple needs as volunteers.
